First Aid Measures
Inhalation:
Remove person to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Seek immediate medical attention.
Skin Contact:
Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Seek immediate medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse.
Eye Contact:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids occasionally. Seek immediate medical attention.
Ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. Seek immediate medical attention.
Most Important Symptoms:
All treatments should be based on observed signs and symptoms. Decontamination of persons may be necessary.
5
Fire Fighting Measures
suitable Extinguishing:
Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire. Water spray, Dry chemical, Carbon dioxide (CO2).
unsuitable Extinguishing:
None known.
specific Hazards:
Corrosive. Contact with most metals may produce highly flammable and explosive hydrogen gas. May react violently with water.
protective Equipment:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit. Firefighters should wear full protective clothing.
6
Accidental Release Measures
personal Precautions:
Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Use personal protective equipment. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
environmental Precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not allow product to enter drains or water courses. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
cleanup Methods:
Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal. Neutralize carefully with soda ash or lime.
reference:
See Section 13 for disposal considerations.
7
Handling and Storage
handling:
Use only in well-ventilated areas. Wear appropriate protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Do not breathe vapor or mist. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product.
storage:
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep container tightly closed. Store locked up. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources.
incompatibilities:
Strong oxidizing agents, Strong bases, Metals, Water
8
Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
exposure Limits:
• {"type":"OSHA PEL","value":"1 mg/m³ TWA"}
• {"type":"ACGIH TLV","value":"0.2 mg/m³ TWA (Thoracic fraction)"}
• {"type":"NIOSH REL","value":"1 mg/m³ TWA"}
engineering:
Use explosion-proof equipment. Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. Use local exhaust ventilation.
ppe:
respiratory:Use NIOSH-approved respirator with acid gas cartridge when exposure limits are exceeded.
hand:Chemical-resistant gloves (e.g., neoprene, nitrile rubber, PVC)
eye:Chemical safety goggles and face shield
skin:Wear appropriate protective clothing (e.g., chemical-resistant apron, suit)
